Shyam was an executive with over 30 years’ experience in overseeing the delivery of quality services to federal, state, and local governments, working tirelessly to provide financial stability for his employees. Shyam was a civil engineer by training with an MBA, he started his career in code compliance, worked his way up to COO/CFO and co-founded not-for-profit civil engineering firm IBTS with best friend Ashok Goswami. Along with Ashok, he created successful strategies and solutions that grew IBTS from 26 to over 200 employees, leaving behind an incredible legacy.
During his life, Shyam followed the teachings of his father who believed the best way to find God was through service to others, especially the underprivileged. He dedicated himself to this cause throughout his life, from supporting the visually-challenged with critical supplies to providing education and vocational training to children of low-income families. In his final years, he partnered with the Mahavir Foundation Trust and the Blind Society in Vadodara (Gujarat) India to uplift thousands of families. Through this work, his life has touched countless people and it continues through CGOU and through his best friend Ashok and son Neil.
